I'm glad you stopped by!
Snowview Farm is home to a small, select group of Morgans that are the culmination of
over 35 years of involvement in the breed. A New Englander by birth, I enjoy the different scenery
and climate associated with my Reno home and especially have enjoyed building my dream barn and
filling it with delightful Morgans. My dogs have a lovely shaded yard to spend their lazy days
while I'm at work; my horses have turn out with big loafing sheds, shelter, water and grass. I
can ride out to protected BLM land and see the Sierras from my little farm in Pleasant Valley.
Yes, I live in the "high desert", but there are places like this that make
me feel quite at "home". Maine will always be home to me but for now - this works very nicely.
Over the past few years I have lost two of the "anchors" of Snowview- Buffmeadow d'Vision,
the last daughter of Rum Brook Victoria, and LCS Fine Crystal both romp over the Rainbow Bridge
(see their memorial page) as well as my beloved senior stallion, The Phantom of the Opera.
And, not ever to be forgotten, a filly that was named for the great female fighter, Laila Ali.
We have had some sad days as each of them were here to teach us and love us and make me a better breeder and caretaker.
They did all that and so much more.
The spring of '08 was incredible, with the birth of two bay fillies who are the stuff great
Morgan mares are made of. I'm so proud of both of them and indeed - they each have mothers who
I consider "GREAT MORGAN MARES". Their sires were
chosen carefully as well and GREAT Morgan SIRES are a blessing to my
program. Their sires are different in blood,
so check out my girls on the mares page and see if you
don't agree!
My beautiful stallion, A Better Soldier, is progressing with great reviews and admiration from his trainer,
David Macmillan in Utah. Soldier and David will debut in the spring as his dressage career continues to thrive.
Also part of my immediate family are Friends of the
Paw, Deer Park Faith (left) and P. Katie Russell (right,
and above, with blanket on horse).

June 2009: This photo
was taken the week of "Stevie's" (Ribbon in the Sky)
first birthday. She is recovering from a very
traumatic accident. For now, we are just happy to
have Stevie with her bright eyes and her incredible
athletic physical self and we know that she is going
to get through this. She still has her lower jaw
wired and her baby teeth appear to have kept that
anchored. New xrays and new decisions for next steps
will be made by the end of June if all goes well.
We're all hopeful that her recovery will lead to us
being able to move Stevie to Laramie and start her
lessons with Mallory - when, of course, she is
ready.
We wanted to thank everyone who have sent the kindest notes - and who have kept Stevie in their prayers.
Keep up the energy and positive thoughts ... it all matters.
Very special thanks go to Dr. Robert Parker and Charity Cook, his vet technician, who have done such a great job putting
this filly back together and continuing her recovery steps. |

May 2009: Leah (Blythewood Acappella) is safely in foal to WC Treble's Tanqueray
with her 2nd of this cross. We liked the results SO much we bred her back for a repeat!

March 2009: News from David
Macmillan, trainer of our stallion, A Better Soldier-"Soldier
is doing great and responding well to training. He
loves his new home and I find him chatting often to
his new friend next door - a very sweet gelding.
He is still using his inside voice more willingly
which is great. He is offering a little more under
saddle now which is good too. His condition is
magnificent - muscular yet sleek."
"Horse Illustrated and their readers have nominated
me and Winston as people's choice dressage horse
of the year which is fun. They are going to run
an article about me and him which is fun. He also
won all the national and regional awards at Int 2
level. He is going into GP this season. So
fun!!" - David

February 2009: News Flash from Wyoming- Mallory Mignot, head trainer at Mears Morgans and owner of SMITHSONIAN
is just thrilled with Ian's saddle training and writes to me with "glowing reports". It is clear that they belong
together and we are so happy he has landed in the hands of such an fine horseman and trainer in Mallory. He's been
growing again (as we know the Graphic Design offspring take a little longer than others) and she just smiles when she
tells me "how long his neck is and how beautiful his head has grown and changed". We are excited to see them compete
when the time comes and wish Mallory the best with Ian and the wonderful group of horses she is training at Anne's this winter.
