"I have seen The Phantom of the Opera and no words I could write would be adequate to describe this horse. I thoroughly enjoyed your letter about him. It is rich in literature. The Phantom of the Opera is a Leonardo horse. Leonardo da Vinci said, "The Horse is God's finest creation."

[Elm Hill Charter Oak x Saddleback Symphony]
1989 Dark Chestnut Stallion
It is with a VERY sad heart that we report that we lost our senior stallion, Phantom, in October of 2006. His life with us was ended abruptly due to complications from unexplained internal bleeding.
He left his mark on our hearts and this breed with his personality and lifetime of achievements.

We thank everyone for the outpouring of support and condolences since his passing. He was a VERY special horse who will be missed by his many fans, but never forgotten.

I loved Phantom since he was a baby and we both shared the same geographical address. I watched him grow up, love and be loved by his legions of fans and extended family, so it was a lifetime dream come true when his owners, John Suprenant and Charleen McCarthy finally came through and accepted my offer of "if you ever decide to sell him, please let me know!"
One of the youngest stallion sons of the great Elm Hill Charter Oak, this grand horse was linebred to Orcland Leader with a splash of Cornwallis and Waseeka's Nocturne, making him rich in the most revered old New England Morgan blood. Phantom won in almost every division that a Morgan Horse can show in, including being named the East Coast Invitational Classic Pleasure Driving Champion in 2002.

"Once at the Syracuse show, a driving class started and a very dark horse came into the ring and my jaw dropped... it was if a stallion had trotted out of one of Jeanne Herrick's books... and guess who it was? Phantom!"
