Our Mares

(Aspenglow Genesis x Callie-Ann)
2000 chestnut mare

Currently residing in the Green Mountains of Vermont at Partridge Hill Stable.

Watch a video clip!

I purchased Leah from her breeder, Kathy Newcomb of Blythewood Farm in New Jersey, at three months of age. She has grown into a lovely young mare and is all I'd hoped for. Leah is quite accomplished in the show ring. Her wins include: 2nd Three & Four Year Old Mares In Hand - Maine Morgan Show 2003; 4th Sport Horse Breeder's Cup [71.95%] - Maine Morgan Show 2003; Junior Champion Mare & 1st Two Year Old Mares - Maine Morgan Show 2002; Reserve Grand Champion Mare, Junior Champion Mare, and 1st Two Year Old Mares - Granite State 2002.

Leah's first foal is Fenway Park (aka "Carl"), a stunning chestnut colt foaled April 17, 2005, sired by our late senior stallion, The Phantom of the Opera. Carl's photos can be found on Phantom's Memorial page as well as on our Archives page. Her second foal was the 2008 bay filly, Isn't She Lovely, by World Champion Treble's Tanqueray, who has since been sold to Mallory Mignot, trainer at Mears Morgans in Laramie, Wyoming. Leah was put back in foal to Treble's Tanqueray for 2010 and we are thrilled with the resulting bay filly!
Foaled in April 2010, this filly is a full sister to Isn't She Lovely (pictured below) and Carly is as lovely as her sister, sports a flashy white face and is big and athletic. The video of Carly and Leah was taken when she was just 3 days old... more photos below.

FOR SALE

(Treble's Tanqueray X Blythewood Acappella)
2008 bay filly

Congratulations to Mallory Mignot of Laramie, Wyoming on her purchase of "KC"!

"KC" was given her barn name in honor of my sister Katrina Crie. Katrina was responsible for raising and training and showing KC's mom, Blythewood Acappella (aka Leah), who I've owned since she was just 3 months old. Leah was a tremendous success in the show ring as a young mare and she rides and drives. Her first foal (by The Phantom of the Opera) is Fenway Park (you can see his pictures on our Archives page), and her second foal is this bay filly, sired by many time world champion Treble's Tanqueray. When Katrina wasn't able to continue Leah's training, I wanted to keep Leah on the east coast,  somewhere close enough for Katrina to visit her. I was blessed to have Greg and Carol Fleck, Tanqueray's owners, offer that Leah could move right up to Vermont and romp the hillsides there. She will be bred back to Tanqueray in 2009.

KC's future will depend on how she matures, but with her unmistakable Morgan good looks and her endearing personality, we look forward to lots of fun and great things with her as she grows up in the hills of Vermont. Thanks Greg and Carol!

Ribbon In The Sky
(Shiloh Bold Command X Antwyne Diva)
2008 bay filly

Find out more about this wonderful filly at her morganshowcase.com listing!

This young beauty was the result of a plan that came together due to three determined women. I had been repeatedly visiting the Jazztime Morgan Farm website and looking at the daughters of Shiloh Bold Command. He is a horse who is more than breathtaking;  he is a horseman's horse - a breeder's horse - and he has proven himself in the breeding shed and in the show ring. "BC" is a member of the Jewell family in the highest regard. I bought a breeding to "BC" in the EFJMARE auction and then really had to put my thinking cap on about who was the best choice for a mare to breed to him. That mare turned out to be the lovely Antwyne Diva, bred and owned by my dear friend Judy Good Miller. Diva has already produced fabulous offspring for Judy, but had not been bred to a horse like BC. So, I asked if I could lease her and Judy was very generous to share her best broodmare with me and let me try this cross. The result is "Ribbon in the Sky" who was born on Stevie Wonder's birthday, which is why we call HER Stevie. She was raised by Judy at her beautiful farm in WA.
